UX Week
A Curated Educational Week
Project Overview
At Northern Trust, the Corporate Marketing Department is comprised of numerous teams ranging from event planning to video production and digital design. Every quarter one of the teams would put together a weekly seminar that showcased their roles in the department and provided an educational platform for their services.
As part of the Digital Design and Delivery team, I organized and curated “UX Week.” The week served as a time for the User Experience team to educate fellow members of the Corporate Marketing Department about the importance of User-Centered Design principles, research and more.

My Role
As the curator, I was responsible for determining the presentation topics, gathering presenters, organizing the schedule and presenting. Everyday for one week we held 1-hour sessions that covered everything from an introduction to User Experience, research methodologies, development and more. There were three sessions that consisted of a presentation followed by Q&A, one session that was an interactive UX activity and the last was an open forum for Q&A and introduction to new project requests.
I presented on two of the days. I kicked off the week with a presentation that was an introduction to UX titled “What is UX and Why Do we Need it?” I also gave a presentation on day three that focused on Moder User Research Methodologies. Below are a few examples of the slides included in the presentations. To view the full presentations, please email me at ernewman4@gmail.com.
